Not Really a Wino (I Think)

June 04, 2007

Hoping not to sound like an actual wino, I admit I've been browsing wine selections lately. I only indulge in a new pinot noir once a month, which I share with my mom. By share I mean she sips on one glass for the better part of an evening and be drunk as a skunk by bedtime. After the last bottle of pinot she requested a sweeter variety. Hm, I thought, how about a white wine this time.

After a quick Google search (by the way, streetview on Google Maps is beyond awesome), I stumbled upon WineLibrary.com. I navigated to the "Best Selling Whites" section with the top choice being a $7.99 bottle of Sunday Mountain Sauvignon Blanc 2005. Incredibly intrigued, I viewed the vineyard's label only to discover the blasphemous use of Comic Sans (read: Ban Comic Sans). As tempting as the review and price are, principle, pride, and ego will not allow this purchase. I shake my fist at you, pride!
